Defending Allsvenskan champions Mjällby delivered a statement performance with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Malmö at Eleda Stadion, showcasing their return to form after a disappointing start to the season.

Jacob Bergström was the hero for the visitors, netting twice with expertly placed headers to help secure all three points. The striker opened the scoring after just one minute, converting a cross from Villiam Granath to give Mjällby the perfect start.

Despite Malmö's dominance for much of the first half, including two strikes hitting the woodwork, they couldn't find an equalizer before the break. Mjällby doubled their advantage early in the second period through Elliot Stroud, who embarked on a brilliant solo run from his own half before firing home with his left foot.

The drama intensified when substitute Taha Ali pulled one back for Malmö, but Bergström quickly restored the two-goal cushion with his second header of the match. Sead Haksabanovic's late strike set up a nervy finish, and Malmö struck the post once more in a frantic finale.

This result means Malmö have managed just one victory against Mjällby in their last eight encounters. Both teams now sit level on ten points, occupying fifth and sixth place respectively in the early Allsvenskan standings.
