Vasic Asked Brother to Delete Social Media Attack on Ex-Hammarby Coach Karlsson

Hammarby striker Nikola Vasic has opened up about the public dispute with former coach Kalle Karlsson, revealing he intervened to stop his family from launching further attacks on social media against the ex-manager.

"He felt that he had difficulty finding a playing style for me. I feel that there should have been one," Vasic said, responding to Karlsson's earlier criticism that suggested the striker didn't fit Hammarby's tactical system.

The Serbian forward believes Karlsson preferred a more dropping number nine in the team's build-up play, but disputes the assessment that no suitable role could be found for him within the squad.

Vasic expressed disappointment that the criticism was aired publicly rather than discussed privately. "I think it's sad that he chose to do it outwardly and not say anything to me," the striker explained.

Despite their tactical disagreements, Vasic maintains he has great respect for Karlsson and describes their relationship as good overall. "Sometimes maybe you're not a good match for each other," he acknowledged.

Following Vasic's interview, his brother posted critical comments about Karlsson on social media. However, the Hammarby striker quickly intervened, asking his sibling to remove the post.
